Storyline:
‘Kaliyachan’ is an adaptation of P Kunjiraman Nair’s poem ‘Kaliyachan’ and at the same time a journey into the life of P Kunjiraman Nair too. The story is that of Kunjiraman (Manoj K Jayan), a Kathakali artist and his relation with his asan (guru) Ravunni (Kalamandalam Sivan Namboodiri) on one level, while on the other level it discusses Kunjiraman’s love for nature, for women and also his attitude towards life. His relationship with those close to him, including his mother (Manju Pillai), his friend and chenda player Vasu (Manikandan Pattambi), his uncle Kunjuttan (Babu Namboothiri) etc- too is discussed.
